Spring Equinox + Start of Aries Season

Today marks the Spring Equinox (for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere), the beginning of Aries season, and the start of the astrological new year.

This is a potent time of rebirth and renewal as new opportunities arise and we say goodbye to what has come before.

Over the past few months, a lot has been brought to the surface for us to revisit and acknowledge. This has been the clearing process leading into this powerful new beginning, giving us the opportunity to decide what we will be bringing forward with us and what needs to be let go.

Aries energy is bold, blunt, courageous, enthusiastic, and full of fire. For the next month, this energy supports us in speaking our truth, shooting our shot, and stepping into our authentic truth and inner light.
 

As we’re each incredibly unique, this energy will affect everyone differently.
 

As an Aries progressed sun myself, I’m personally a huge fan of Aries energy. While I used to have more trouble feeling confident in being direct and speaking my mind, when my sun moved into Aries around my 30th birthday, it became easier for me to fully harness and embody my inner fire.

This being said, and with all the beautiful qualities of Aries in mind, it’s important to also be aware of its shadow side. Aries can rush forward without thinking, make impulsive decisions, and be so blunt it may come off harsh at times. Aries energy can increase feelings of impatience, aggression, and overall moodiness. In the extreme, it can create and intensify conflicts, spark fights, and ignite suppressed feelings of rage within and around us.
 

It’s important to know where you fall on this spectrum in order to best work with these energies. For example, if it’s very difficult for you to speak up, this energy can bring a welcome burst of courage and confidence into your day-to-day vibe. If you’re already incredibly honest and direct, these energies can intensify this quality and the impulse to quickly and boldly speak your mind.
 

This fire energy is potent and powerful. It’s important to wield it wisely. When it is used thoughtfully, it can provide a huge boost of energy and confidence in the places you most need it. When it is used recklessly, it can be easy to burn others or to get burned.

The moon is in Scorpio today, and Mercury forms a conjunction with Jupiter as well. You may find yourself feeling especially in touch with your deepest emotions right now, with the strong urge to share these with others and speak what’s on your heart.

This combination of aspects plus the fiery Aries energy encourages us to become more expansive and open with our communication. You may find yourself saying things that you never imagined you could say before. Many unexpected conversations, sudden communications, and deep, honest confessions will be coming through around this time.
 

No matter what is beginning for you now, a beautiful opportunity is opening up in front of you. If you don’t know what this is for you yet, you will know it when you see it. It will likely come in quickly and abruptly over the next month as the sun continues to move through Aries.

Be aware of any feelings of impatience and impulsivity that may arise within you. This is not the time to throw in the towel just because something seems like it’s not happening soon enough. Continue to trust the process, check in with your gut, and soothe or positively channel these feelings when they arrive.

As we continue to navigate this new wave in the collective energies, pay attention to what presents itself and what’s coming up for you at this time — both within and around you. So much is being shown to us right now, and there are so many huge shifts and changes presenting themselves in divine time. This moment is an absolute game changer. When you are listening to yourself and working with the energies, this can be the opening into a brand new way of life.
