A Love Note for Survivors of Trauma

If you survived a history clouded by trauma and abuse: you did a wonderful job.

Trauma, especially childhood trauma, makes us incredibly hard on ourselves. We look at ourselves and find fault in order to justify or explain what we experienced. And oftentimes, these criticisms were echoed from those around us over and over again.

There is no “I should have done it better.”

You survived. That in itself is always enough.

Even on the days when you feel the world is falling down around you, you are doing so incredibly well with all you’ve been given.

It's time to acknowledge yourself for not only surviving, but for moving into a space where it's possible to thrive.

You, in your every state and season, are more than enough.
